Point to Point Application of eWAVE4107DiR

The eWAVE4107 is a 1U Mini-chassis type Multi-service platform which has a flexible configuration and can be configured differently for various network applications.

Figure Fig. 1 shows a most basic CWDM application, where user traffic is any combination of 1 GbE, OC3/OC12, OC48 and FICON/FC/ESCON/DTV. Eight CWDM wavelengths can be used and transmission distance is up to 80 km. The net loss budget is 28 dB, 80 ~ 100 km.

Figure Fig. 2 illustrates another application, where the user traffic cards are replaced by using all 10 GE or OC192 line cards.

Figure Fig. 3 is an application when the span loss is big up to 38 dB. We have to use DWDM and using both mini EDFA for Boost optical amplifier and pre-amplifier.

Figure Fig. 4 illustrates a multi-span up to 400 km DWDM transmission using mini chassis eWAVE4107. In this case, there are no needs of using user line cards and MUX/DEMUX card at the mini- EDFA locations, however, DCF of oWAVE1580 is required for the dispersion compensation.

Figure Fig. 5 shows the CWDM transmission case, where the user traffic is mixed 10 GbE (or OC192) and the low bit rate. This is case is more suitable for the case initially low speed is deployed and later 10G (10 GbE or OC192) is required to be in-service upgrade.

Figure Fig. 6 shows the case where the mixed low speed and 10 G/s service are required and span loss is big, so that initially the DWDM and mini-EDFAs are used.
